Frequently asked questions
How much does a concrete driveway cost in San Bernardino?
National figures published by HomeGuide for 2026 put a concrete driveway at $6 to $15 per square foot, or $2,400 to $8,600 for a 2-car driveway. Those are not our quotes. Your price depends on size, thickness, demolition and finish, and we give it in writing after measuring on site.
Do I need a permit for a driveway or patio in San Bernardino?
Flat concrete inside your lot is often exempt from a building permit under the state code. The driveway approach, curb and public sidewalk are in the right of way and need a City of San Bernardino permit. We check the rule for your address.
How long before I can use new concrete?
Walking is usually fine after one to two days and cars after about 7 days. Keep heavy vehicles such as RVs and loaded trailers off for about a month.
Can you pour in summer heat or Santa Ana winds?
Yes, with planning. Hot-weather pours start at dawn on a dampened base and are cured right away. In strong, dry wind we use wind breaks and evaporation retarder or move the date, because fast drying is the main risk to a slab here.
Who is responsible for the sidewalk in front of my house?
The owner of the fronting lot. San Bernardino Municipal Code section 12.92.040 requires owners to keep the sidewalk and curb in safe condition. The City repairs some concrete as its budget allows, so ask Public Works before you pay.
How much deposit can a contractor ask for in California?
The Contractors State License Board says a home improvement down payment cannot be more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less.
Do you remove the old concrete?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-away are part of our quote when a replacement is needed.
Can cracked concrete be repaired?
Small cracks and surface damage can often be repaired or resurfaced. Slabs that have sunk or broken up usually need to be replaced. We tell you which applies.
Do I need a permit for concrete work in San Bernardino?
Driveway approaches, sidewalks and structural slabs often need a permit. We check the rules for your address.
